TEST YOUR OWN HEALTH ?

You can test the acidity/alkalinity of your body and gain a profound insight into the general health of your body.

The human body is mostly water. Every cell contains fluid. All cells are separated by fluid. The nutrients and waste are removed by blood and lymph fluid. Joints and muscles are lubricated by fluid. The brain is bathed in fluid. The digestive system works on fluids. The pH of these fluids has to be maintained correctly if it is to function properly.

The human body needs stomach acid ( hydrochloric acid ) to prime the digestive system ( switch on alkaline secretions from the liver, pancreas, gall bladder ) and to break down protein.

The human body only needs a small amount of good quality protein each day ( 15 essential amino acids which is easily obtained from 100 g of meat ). Excess protein requires more stomach acid.

Alkaline secretions of the digestive system are enzymes containing minerals. Every strong acid molecule requires an alkaline mineral to be used up from your body. If your body is low on minerals, acids will not be neutralised properly and your digestive system will become acid and unhealthy.

Acidic body tissue is easily invaded by infectious germs because most pathogenic bacteria like an acidic environment to live in.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO BALANCE YOUR pH

Drink less soft drink especially colas (contains citric acid, carbonic and phosphoric acid ), drink less juice ( the equivalent of 5 squeezed fruits a day is enough ) and coffee ( acidic irritant to digestive tract and stimulates stomach secretions )

Normal cell function produces acid waste products. These are cleared out by the blood when you sleep at night. Kidneys filter out the acid wastes and they are excreted in the first urine upon waking. Normal cell fluid and blood are neutral pH ( about pH 7) and your urine during the day should also be about pH 7 as urination during the day is only for fluid balancing.

Human saliva should always be pH 7-7.75. Even ten minutes after a drink of fruit juice or eating an orange, the saliva should be alkaline not acidic. Unfortunately, many cola and sports drinks contain acid stabilizers that make it very difficult for the saliva to neutralise the acid drink and for the mouth to return to alkaline.

The human body needs about 2.5 litres of water to dilute wastes and prevent chronic tissue acidity. A cup of coffee or glass of cola requires the same amount of water just to flush out the caffeine before actual hydration can occur.

Most adults are low in basic minerals. The human body needs at least 22 minerals each day. 50% of the minerals by weight should be Calcium. Other minerals include magnesium iron copper manganese potassium zinc dolomite selenium chromium. Minerals are found in soil and transported into plants.

To maintain a healthy endocrine system, you need to eat more vegetables. If soils are poor in minerals, you will need a good mineral supplement.

Most medications require metabolism by the liver which uses up minerals. If you are on medications, be aware that your mineral requirements may be higher than normal.
